Dream meaning: Fingernails

Fingernails in your dream can sometimes be like an animal’s claws. They may be defensive weapons.

  • If you dream of your nails falling out, it could mean that you are concerned about you ability to defend against some kind of emotional attack or aggression.
  • If you simply notice your fingernails in a dream, it could indicate that your defences are up.
  • Dreaming about taking off your own fingernails can indicate a shedding of defences that are no longer needed.

Fingernails can also represent physical beauty or glamour. In this case dreaming of your fingernails falling out might reflect fears of a loss of attractiveness.

Dreaming of chewing fingernails can represent excessive worry about some problem in real life.

    I was dreaming that all my fingernails fell off… They looked like fake nails.. But I could see the tissue behind.. I felt the pain , I would try and try to put it back together but I couldn’t

    I had a dream that my middle finger was messed up and was having to come off anyways so I pulled it and the whole thing came off, nasty and red underneath. It was excruciatingly painful. I’m assuming that means I’m feeling under attack.

    In my dream I had the same color nails I have now. But I was ripping them off with my teeth the whole nails all the way to the cuticle. I also saw myself doing this and felt like I was wondering Why I was doing it.

    I dreamed that I had a manicure and a pedicure with gel polish. I noticed the next day that all of the polish had fell off. I have dreamed this twice now in the last couple of weeks but have not ever had this kind of dream. I having issues with people at work.

    For the past couple of nights I dreamed that my left index fingernail was feeling funny. In the first dream I was fiddling with it and noticed it was about to come off, so I put it back. In the second dream it was really coming off so I just took it off. It didn’t feel comfortable without a nail so I put a bandaid on it. Lately I have been feeling more confident than I have for a long time, so the idea that these dreams symbolize removing defences makes sense to me right now.

    i dreamed that my 4 fingers fell off excluding my thumb. When i tried to touch a power switch, it explode and it is so dark i can’t feel any pain but when i tried to look at my hands i noticed that my fingers are gone and there is blood. I found my fingers on the floor and I tried to get all of it. I’m holding it on my hands while crying. I still cannot feel any pain but I cried a lot.

    I dreamt that my own fingure nails were decayed and the thumb nail of the right hand actually fell off n all the rest were abt fallin off but there was no pain at all.

    I dream and saw my pastor cutting off my toe nails and also cut off a big nail on the thumb with dirty skin.

    I dreamed that I was laying on my boyfriends lap and he was clipping my fingernails. He cut them to a nice length. We parted ways and while we were apart I was preoccupied with trying to contact him to thank him.

    I read fingernails has to do with your defenses. Maybe it means that I feel i can trust him and represents allowing myself to be vulnerable.

    I dreamed my hands were severely burned and all my fingernails started to turn black and slide off.

    I dreamed that I’m clipping my right finger nails. I saw all my nails are easily removed but it doesn’t hurt.

    Ci dreamed that I had bugs crawling bugs under my fingernail. They almost seemed to be swimming around as the under skin was almost transparent. Someone from my past told me I should get it seen by a doctor.

    I had a strange dream that someone or I pulled off my thumb fingernail. I panicked when I relized it didn’t hurt and when I saw the skin underneath. I tried to put my fingernail back on under the nail skin, over and over.

    I dreamed that someone took my hand, then clipped my thumb fingernail. I looked at the one who took my hand and saw my boyfriend. I smiled. Then I looked at my thumb fingernail again, because he clipped it again but now it was so short that the skin underneath showed. I was startled by what he did but I felt no pain. I was annoyed, still, because my fingernail was now deformed.

    I dreamed that a lady threw her index and middle finger nails at me. Those two nails were longer than the rest but she just flicked them off.

    I dreamed that I had acrylic fingernails (white) and that I was taking them off by just taking them with my other hand and pulling them off. It did not hurt at all, it just seem natural as if they were just coming off really easy. The nails below were good looking too.
